Rhodes Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and some say it is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe, featuring lots of historic buildings, the Palace of the Grand Master, the Street of the Knights, and the Ancient Stadium.
The Old Town itself is found inside the walls of the ancient city of Rhodes, a historic city dating back to the 7th century and it covers an area of around 20 square kilometres.
Lots of local restaurants serve a variety of local and international cuisine and there are many modern cafes and bars offering both cocktails and more traditional Greek drinks. For those looking for a later night scene then the strip over in Faliraki is a short 20 min taxi ride away.
There are a few small and secluded beaches dotted around the city of Rhodes however the majority of them are pebble beaches rather than the traditional sandy ones you may be looking for. A short bus or car journey will bring many of these sandy beaches in range though.
